Welcome!

Thanks for visiting KVB – I’m stoked that you decided to stop by our little corner of the internet!

Kids vs Bikinis is a lifestyle blog and community for busy women – most of us moms who are busting our butts to raise healthy and happy kids, while trying to maintain a sense of self.

Together we’ll explore tips, tricks and hacks that will help you live a healthier, happier, more inspired and more energetic life.

Hi, I’m Gina 👋 – a 39-year-old mom of three from Minnesota who is currently in hot pursuit of my pro card as a bikini bodybuilder!

I’ve built and sold 3 businesses in the last 10 years and am currently growing my 4th – as a Life Coach, focused on helping women lose weight for the very last time without restrictive eating or excessive exercise habits.

Instead, we solve the root cause of overeating at the level of the mind.

I’m also currently pursuing my menopause certification and look forward to learning allll things hormones.

I’ve always been interested in physical fitness and nutrition. In being the very best version of myself that I can be.

I’ve been an athlete and trained with weights since I can remember. And at just 18 years old, I started working at Jenny Craig as a weight loss consultant, which led to a sales position and even running my own (very profitable) store for a bit.

Needless to say, I’m passionate about getting and staying in great shape and seeing others realize their full potential as well.

Partly because I’ve struggled with maintaining a healthy weight myself – especially as a mom and an entrepreneur. The kids started coming in 2011 and I quit my day job to start my own online business in 2014.

While I bounced back (and then some) after baby number one, my health took a major backseat as I prioritized building my business and ensuring we could pay the bills as a single income household after baby number two.

Eventually business was going well enough that I could change my focus and it couldn’t have come at a better time – I was fed up. Quite literally!

With the help of a trainer, I prepped for and competed in my first bikini competition in May of 2018. I was able to maintain my new amazing physique for awhile, but turned to food and (too much) wine when the (business) going got tough.

Competing was actually my answer to getting my over-drinking under control in the first place. I successfully did for the last 10 weeks of competition prep, but slid right back into the saddle and off the wagon when celebrating my big accomplishment.

One year on the dot later (Cinco De Mayo 2019 no less!), I found myself in rehab and began my quest in truly understanding myself and getting to the root of my own problems. I’m happy to say I’ve been sober ever since!

After having another baby in early 2021 (and gaining too much weight during COVID/my pregnancy), I found myself embarking on another body transformation journey in May of that year.

And as I started to get my body back, I also started flirting with the idea of competing again… I’m no spring chicken (born in 1984) and it’d been a hot minute (and a baby) since the last time, but I went for it and took the stage again on October 1st, 2022.

I also decided to get certified as a Life Coach and Personal Trainer to help other women like me transform their bodies (and therefore their lives!).

My current impossible goal is to get my pro card as a bikini bodybuilder.

Why? Because it’s one thing to step on stage (and not embarrass myself) and a whole nother to become good enough to earn pro status.

And why not see where I can take this whole thing?!

I hope you follow along and are inspired to go after your own audacious goals!

Ready? Let’s GO!
